Projects for 2019

Hygiene Kits

The Jordan Miranda Memorial Foundation has been busy filling gently used purses with various much-needed commodities to donate to the local homeless population. While we focus on providing hygiene items – including shampoo, conditioner, deodorant, and toothpaste – we also include socks, hats, scarves, and umbrellas. Portable snacks in the original wrapping are always a welcome addition! Rather than donate your used purses for resale, we encourage you to fill them with toiletries or other items and give them to an organization that will distribute to those in need.

Porridge Club

We are honored to spread a little kindness all the way across the Atlantic Ocean. We are happy to have provided a monetary donation to a school in Dar es Salaam, a city located on the eastern coast of Tanzania, Africa. The school provides education to forty-three children, most of whom are from impoverished, single-parent households. The donation will be used to buy uniforms, shoes and other supplies. Arguably most important, however, it will be used to provide a daily serving of porridge to students every morning. For many of the children, meals are few and far between, and the daily porridge is truly needed for these students. Their needs are great, and we are hoping to help them again in the near future. We are blessed to have been able to provide a contribution to these students’ education, and we thank them for their acknowledgement of such a kind and caring young man.

Annual Sock and Cookie Giveaway

Foundation members gathered at the Salvation Army in Mobile, Alabama on Christmas day to pass out new, warm socks and homemade cookies to the local community.
